How can we help?
Setup steps, answers to common questions and how to reach us.
Getting started
- 1
Install FitRest
Download FitRest from the App Store. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, with iOS 17 or later and watchOS 10.6 or later.
- 2
Allow Apple Health access
Open the app and follow the onboarding. When asked, allow access to the Apple Health data you want FitRest to use. You can change this later.
- 3
Wear Apple Watch to sleep
Sleep stages and overnight heart data come from a device that records them, such as Apple Watch worn overnight. The more nights recorded, the more useful your trends become.
Questions and answers
What do I need to use FitRest?
FitRest needs iOS 17 or later. The Apple Watch app needs watchOS 10.6 or later. There is no account to create.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. FitRest reads the data in Apple Health, including data from other devices and apps that save to Apple Health. An Apple Watch worn during the day and overnight adds heart rate, HRV and sleep stage data, which several scores depend on.
How do I grant or fix Apple Health permissions?
On iPhone, go to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > FitRest, or open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then Apps > FitRest. Turn on the data types you want FitRest to read and write, then return to FitRest.
Why is a score or card empty?
Each score needs data for that day. Recovery and Sleep need a night of sleep recorded, usually by an Apple Watch worn overnight. If the data exists in the Health app but FitRest shows nothing, check that the matching Apple Health permission is turned on for FitRest.
Why isn't my data showing up?
Make sure FitRest has permission to read that data type in Apple Health, and that the device or app recording it is saving to Apple Health. Data from Apple Watch can take a few minutes to reach your iPhone.
How is my health data protected?
FitRest reads your Apple Health data on your device. There is no FitRest account. Some settings and recent scores sync between your own devices through your iCloud account. See the privacy policy for details.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Logs such as water, caffeine, glucose and blood pressure can be exported as CSV or PDF. Your raw data is always available in the Apple Health app.
Can I set my own goals?
Yes. You can set goals such as a sleep goal, a hydration goal and a caffeine limit in the app.
How do I add FitRest widgets?
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit or Customize, then add a widget and choose FitRest from the list. On Apple Watch, edit your watch face to add FitRest complications.
How do notifications work?
FitRest can send reminders, such as bedtime and log reminders. You can choose which ones you get in the app's settings.
I'm not receiving notifications
Check that notifications are turned on for FitRest in Settings > Notifications. Also check that a Focus or Do Not Disturb is not blocking alerts.
The app seems slow or crashes
Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue continues, restart your device or reinstall the app. Contact support if problems continue.
